    Brand:

Stinthal was a brand of pottery made by the Crooksville China Company in Crooksville, Ohio from 1902 to 1959:

Stinthal: A fine, thin, semi-porcelain pottery

Pantry-Bak-in: A top grade of semi-porcelain pottery with a smooth, hard body

Sun Lure: A light cream to yellow glaze

Crooksville, Ohio was a thriving center for pottery and coal mining due to its rich farmland and deep veins of clay and coal. The area's pottery industry grew rapidly at the turn of the century, and potters used steam power to increase production. The arrival of railroads made it easier to ship pottery to distant points, and national sales became possible.
