The items are Couroc trays. Couroc refers to products made by the Couroc Company of Monterey, California, founded in 1948 by Guthrie Sayle Courvoisier and Moira Wallace. Couroc trays are made from a proprietary phenolic resin material, which resembles ebony wood and is resistant to alcohol, boiling water, and cigarette burns. The trays are known for their inlaid designs, which often feature natural materials such as shells, coins, wood veneers, and metals. The designs are set by hand, making each piece slightly different. The Couroc company ceased operations in 1996, making its products collectible todaySlight scratching and light wear. 7” long, 6” wide.
