Ocumicho is a cultural Indian community of approximately 5,600 Pur é pecha people located in the foothills of the Tarascan plateau at about 2,000 meters altitude. The village is about 2 hours from Pátzcuaro near Cocucho, about 12-15 km from Zamora and very near the city of Uruapan in Michoacán.
